Virginia Fenton

Clara Virginia Fenton, age 92, of Urbana, Ohio passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025. She was born February 10, 1933, the daughter of Dale O. and Clara L. (Abbott) Pond. She graduated from Westville High School, class of 1951. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Debbie and Kenny Boggs of Urbana; and Kathy and John Paulsen of Springfield; grandchildren: Amy and Mark Traylor, Bryan Boggs, Emily Paulsen and her husband Dave Shu, and Andy Paulsen; great-grandchildren: Lexi, Mia, and Gannon Traylor, Elayne Boggs, and Annabella Odle; and her most special and faithful friend, her kitty Boo; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Stickley, Ruth Ann Ireland, Marilyn Leopard, and many nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Lawrence Fenton, her parents, Clara and Dale Pond, two brothers, Billy (Myrt) and Bobby (Charlotte) Pond and her mother and father-in-law Opal and William Fenton.

Virginia was truly devoted to her family; supporting and caring about them was her life’s work. She and Lawrence loved attending the children and grandchildren’s school activities, sporting events, plays and programs. Watching the family participate in 4-H activities at the Champaign County Fair and Ohio State Fair brought them great joy. They were proud to never miss an event. Being a selfless and generous person, her devotion to family made every momentous occasion and holiday special, with beautiful cards and perfect gifts. Treasured memories of the fun, laughter and good times shared together leaves her family with a love and legacy that they will cherish and carry in their hearts forever.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 1:00PM in the Walter & Lewis Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1:00PM with her son-in-law, John Paulsen, officiating. Virginia will be laid to rest in Oakdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, to honor Virginia’s great love of animals, memorial contributions may be made to Paws Animal Shelter, 1535 W. U.S. Hwy. 36, Urbana, Ohio 43078.
