William Jennings Bryan Kise, Jr.

William Jennings Bryan Kise Jr., age 91, of Urbana, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 11, 1934, in Madison County to the late William and Christine McClaskey Kise, one of eight children. In his early twenties, Bill worked as a punch press operator at WB Marvin’s. It was there that he unknowingly met the love of his life, Patricia, beginning a love story that would span 70 beautiful years and become the foundation of his life. Bill later went on to work at Howard Papermill, where he dedicated 34 years of his career before retiring. Outside of work, Bill found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed golfing trips to Myrtle Beach, watching a good football game, and working outdoors maintaining the beautiful property he and Pat shared. He took pride in tending to their garden and watching it blossom year after year.  In his earlier years, Bill was an excellent dancer. He and Pat spent many weekends dancing with friends, creating cherished memories filled with laughter and music. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Pat; his three children, his son Kelly (Ruth) Kise, and his daughters Kathi Ladd and Shannon Mitchell; and his siblings Bernice (Fred) Henault, Roger (Donna) Kise, and Larry (Audrey) Kise. He was a devoted grandfather to nine grandchildren—Tyler (Nichole) Ladd, Chelsea (Smiley) Rodriguez, Clark (Angela) Ladd, Siara Mitchell, Skyler Mitchell, Spencer (Andi) Mitchell, Levi (Caitlin) Kise, Courtney Kise, and Chase (Kelly) Kise—and was also blessed with more than 20 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy. Above all else, Bill will be remembered for his deep love for Pat, who to him hung the moon and the stars. A man of quiet strength, hardworking hands, and an infectious smile, he leaves behind a family who will forever carry his love and legacy. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
