William L. Sowers

William H. Sowers, age 90 of Urbana, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2026. He was born February 27, 1936 in Cable, Ohio, the son of the late Wilbur and Mary (Yoder) Sowers. William is survived by his daughter, Mary Beth Miller, step-sons; Jeffrey (Pam) and Toby Craig, grandchildren; William and Wayne Moore, sister-in-law, Martha Jane Sowers, cousins, Tom, Sowers, Susan Gothard and a special cousin Lois South Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his spouses, Rebecca (Roseberry) and Kathleen (Hunter) Sowers, daughter, Sharon Moore, brother, Sam Sowers, and sister, Joyce Jean Sowers.

William answered the call to serve his country as a member of the Army National Guard for several years. For three decades following, he dedicated his professional life to the Howard Paper Mill. An avid sports enthusiast, William enjoyed following the Cincinnati Reds baseball team and the Ohio State football team, finding joy in their games and sharing those experiences with friends and family. Traveling was another of his passions, and he cherished the opportunities to explore new places and create lasting memories.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 11:00-1:00 PM at the Walter and Lewis Funeral Home, Urbana. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM, also at the funeral home.
