To the families we served this year, our trusted partners and our community:

As we look ahead to a new decade, the staff and family at Walter & Lewis Funeral & Cremation Services has so much to be thankful for. For some, the holiday season and new year is the most joyous time of year. For others, it can be one of most difficult when dealing with grief. That's why we'd like to extend our wishes for a peaceful new year.

We'd also like to thank you—the families who trust in our services during the most difficult times in their lives, our partners who have forged deep relationships with us, and the entire Champaign County community that has constantly supported us and our many community programs for decades.

Community Program highlights from 2019

Here are highlights from 8 of our more than 13 community programs.

1st Responders Appreciation Day Thank You to  all of our sponsors

This was the 1st year for the Honor Field supporting local First Responders.

We raised enough money to purchase carbon hoodies for every fireman on the Urbana staff.

Annually we honor and remember our service men and women serving overseas by sending them boxes of valentines created by children and seniors in our community.

 

   

 

   
 

Free Senior Movies

Every year we host 3 to 4 FREE Senior Movies at the Gloria Theater.

Senior Dream Center

Our non-profit that grants wishes to seniors fulfilled its 250th dream in 2019.

 

Easter Toys

We collected and delivered Easter Toys to the kids at Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Feed Our Heroes

For the last 9 years Feed Our Heroes has provided a full Thanksgiving meal on the Saturday after Thanksgiving for any veteran.  This year we served over 300.  Thank you to all that help every year make this a successful event.

 Plastic Bag Recycling

Plastic Bag Recycling

We collect plastic bags to help the environment and then we donate them to locations that make them into plastic mats for the homeless.

 

Cooking for One Program

Learn to cook.  Gain new friends and new confidence in a safe and comfortable environment. Classes are designed for adults living alone after the loss of a loved one.
